Blending stumps is a cylindrical drawing tool,trapped at the end and usually made of rolled paper, used by artist to smudge or blend marks made with charcoal, crayon or pencil.
In this tutorial I will show you how to make blending stumps at home step by step,and I hope this tutorial will help you to improve your drawing..
Material used:-A. Paper
B. Blade/knief
C. Tape
D. Sandpaper
Step1:- paper selection
Select a soft grained paper for stump,do not use smooth paper,. You can also use any kind of newspaper.
Step2:-Roll and Roll and Roll
Now start rolling your paper from one corner. Roll and roll and roll. This part is very important you have to roll as tight as possible,roll until it form a stick.Do try there is no gap while roll up. Keep in mind there should no space and the stumps is rolled very compactfully.when you are done secure this by using small piece of tape.
Step3:-Find the real point
Now find the point where it doesn't bend, then cut out the loose part. If you find a hole inside the stick cut it again untill you will find a soild point.
Step4:-Sharp
Now sharpen the tip of paper stump with blade/knief/sharpnner

Cleaning:-
Cleaning of stumps udually involve removing the used outer layer of paper by scraping or rubbing the implementat on an abrasive surface, such as Sandpaper, some people also whittle off the tip of it becomes dull or madhed in.
